JIBWIS NIGERIA DELEGATION, LED BY SHEIKH DR ABDULLAHI BALA LAU, VISITS NIGER REPUBLIC FOR INTERNATIONAL PREACHING MISSION

In a landmark display of regional Islamic unity and cooperation, the National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa ‘iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS Nigeria, Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, led a distinguished delegation of senior Islamic scholars (Ulama) from Nigeria to the Republic of Niger for an international session aimed at strengthening the bonds of faith, unity, and religious enlightenment across borders.
The JIBWIS delegation arrived in Niamey, the capital of the Republic of Niger, to a warm reception by local Islamic leaders, scholars, and dignitaries.
The visit, which featured a series of public sermons, lectures, Qur’anic recitations, and interactive Da’awah sessions, was organized in collaboration with Islamic organizations in Niger to promote authentic Islamic teachings based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau delivered a keynote sermon that resonated with thousands of faithful who gathered to witness the spiritual engagement.
Sheikh Bala Lau emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims, the need to uphold the pristine teachings of Islam, and the dangers of innovations (Bid’a) in religion.
In a deep, emotional, and spiritually uplifting moment, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau offered special prayers for the peace, stability, and continuous progress of the Republic of Niger.
He prayed fervently for the success of the country’s leadership, specifically mentioning General Abdoulrahmanne Tchiani, President of the Republic of Niger, and the Prime Minister, asking Allah Almighty to grant them wisdom, strength, and justice in the discharge of their duties.
“May Allah Almighty protect the Republic of Niger and grant its leaders—President General Abdoulrahmanne Tchiani and the Prime Minister—wisdom, guidance, and strength to lead with justice and compassion. May peace and prosperity reign in this noble land, and may the unity of its people continue to grow,” Sheikh Bala Lau prayed.
Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau also underscored the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties between Nigeria and the Niger Republic, calling for sustained unity and brotherhood between the two neighboring countries.
He stressed that the challenges faced by the Ummah require joint efforts rooted in mutual respect, collaboration, and shared values.
“We are brothers not only in faith but also in destiny. Nigeria and Niger share more than a border; we share blood, culture, and religion. Let us strengthen these bonds for the benefit of our people and the preservation of Islam in this region,” Sheikh Bala Lau added.
Throughout the preaching session, renowned scholars like Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Kabiru Haruna Gombe, JIBWIS Secretary General, Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Jalingo, Director, JIBWIS National Council of Ulama, and others from both countries delivered lectures on various aspects of Islamic belief and practice, youth empowerment through religious education, moral discipline, and the role of the Ulama in guiding society through challenging times.
The delegation also discusses with some Islamic scholars and community leaders in Niamey aimed at improving ways for future cooperation in Islamic propagation, education, and humanitarian outreach.
The international mission, hailed by many as impactful and timely, reaffirms JIBWIS Nigeria’s commitment to the global propagation of Islam and fostering unity within the Muslim Ummah.
The peaceful and warm hospitality extended by the people and government of the Republic of Niger further strengthened the spirit of regional solidarity and religious brotherhood.
As Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau and his delegation concluded their visit, they left behind not just words but a renewed spirit of collaboration, peace, and Islamic awakening in the hearts of the faithful.
