The year 2025 Hajj exercise has marked a turning point in the history of Hajj Administration in Nigeria—a remarkable success story written under the visionary leadership of Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman, chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.
From planning to execution, Prof. Abdullahi Usman’s dedication, sincerity, and no-nonsense approach have brought relief, respect, and renewed dignity to Nigerian pilgrims.
Among the most outstanding feats of Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman’s administration was the historic reduction of Hajj costs by a staggering 54 billion naira before the commencement of the 2025 Hajj operations.
This strategic achievement not only cushioned the financial burden on pilgrims and their families but also restored public trust in the commission’s ability to act in the genuine interest of Nigerian Muslims.
Unlike in previous years, this year’s operations were defined by transparency, efficiency, and compassion. From flight arrangements to accommodation, feeding, and overall coordination, Nigerian pilgrims were treated with the respect and consideration they rightfully deserve. The experience was peaceful, spiritually fulfilling, and devoid of the chaos that had plagued previous exercises.
Yet, amid these glorious achievements, there lurks a dangerous cabal of saboteurs, elements within the commission who feel threatened by integrity and who are hell-bent on derailing progress for their selfish gains.
These individuals have shown reckless disregard for the sanctity of Hajj and the welfare of pilgrims, preferring to sabotage the commission’s success simply because it does not benefit their corrupt ambitions.
These saboteurs operate with calculated malice. They spread misinformation, leak internal documents, manipulate systems, and resist positive changes, all in a bid to frustrate the chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman, and stain the legacy he is building. Their actions are nothing short of betrayal, not only to the commission but to the entire Muslim Ummah.
Let it be clear to all Nigerians and the global Muslim community: those working to undermine Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman’s leadership are enemies of progress, enemies of transparency, and enemies of Allah’s sacred call to duty. They are saboteurs of the renewed hope in the Hajj Administration.
They must be identified, exposed, and dealt with decisively. The time has come to cleanse the commission of bad eggs whose loyalty is not to Nigeria, not to the pilgrims, and certainly not to Allah, but to their selfish pockets.
We call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, and other relevant stakeholders to give full backing to Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman in this noble mission.
His 54-billion-naira cost-saving achievement alone is enough to demonstrate that a new era has begun in NAHCON—one built on service, accountability, and fear of Allah.
What Prof. Abdullahi Usman has done this year proves beyond a reasonable doubt that with the right leadership, Nigeria can get Hajj right. He deserves not only commendations but also protection from the toxic hands of corruption and sabotage.
As we look forward to future Hajj operations, we pray for continued success under Prof. Abdullahi Sale Usman’s stewardship. May Allah reward his sacrifices, strengthen his resolve, and expose those who wish to return the commission to the dark days of impunity and failure.
